5e - Determining AC threshold for Great Weapon Master / Sharpshooter

Input your overall hit modifier without the GWM/SS penalty.

Input the damage formula you would roll without the GWM/SS bonus (eg 3d6+5).

If you only have the average damage (computed by AnyDice for example), you can put it as is (for our previous example, it would be 15.5).

"Super Advantage" means advantage with a reroll of one dice, such as the Elven Accuracy Feat.

Using the Lucky feat on a normal attack amounts to having advantage on that attack.

Using the Lucky feat on an advantage attack amounts to having super advantage on that attack.

Using the Lucky feat on a super advantage attack is probably overkill.

AC Threshold :

What do I make of this ?

The number above is the AC for which your attack will be doing the same damage with and without Great Weapon Master / Sharpshooter.

If the thing you're hitting has a lower AC than that, you should be using the feat to maximize damage.

The "Super advantage" calculation is slightly different and thus shows a rounded AC. This is the maximal AC you can "safely" target WITH the feat.
